    Twin Buttes 9.40

I have had some bad luck with a few big fish this year getting them in the boat....Caught a 9.40 yesterday evening at Twin Buttes for big bass for the Thursday evening tourney. Hopefully I got rid of the snakebite for a while!! Sorry for the pic quality they are camera phones. I thought the one coming out of the livewell was a nice pic. Caught this fish on a crig in 26-28ft on a Xcite Maximus 10.5" worm.

I think right now it is somewhere around 28-30% full...That may be off a bit but pretty close.

Right now, it's showing to be 26.88' low and at 20.96% capacity. We need us another Tropical Storm to pass through ...

    Nice fish, JR

Nice fish,,,, I was on TB yesterday evening also and didn't get anything like that. Congrats !!!

She has dropped close to 2' since I was last there a couple of weeks ago. This heat and wind is dropping her pretty quick.

If they would close the gates @ Twin Buttes for just a little while it might not drop so fast.Ivey is dropping rapidly because of all the water being pumped out.Maybe if they used a little conservation it will help some.

Our area lakes are being pumped dry to send water down to the rice farmers in south Texas.

Water out of Buttes is being sent down river to the farmers as well. Most of the water pumped from Ivey is being sent to Midland to water there streets

The only nice thing about the low lake levels is that it keeps the idiots from the Houston, Dallas and Ft. Worth area from coming here and terrorizing our lakes with their ocean going speed boats. When we would stop someone for reckless operation of a boat on Lake Travis at least 85% would be from out of county.

Thats what we have Lake Nasworthy for, during the summer jetskis, ski boats and a few cigar boats are stacked on top of each other. My best friend is a lake patrol and 95% of the tickets they write are people from towns west of Angelo. Too bad they couldn't stay out west.

The bad thing is they are overflowing onto TB. Not too long ago one of the big ski boats decided to turn his stereo all the way up so everyone on the lake could here him. So much for the peace and quiet. He even went up Spring Creek.

And we pay good money for that water too! Heck the area chief for the CRMWD here in Midland rides around in a Hummer.
