I used 25lb Trilene Big Game line and had no problem.

If you are flipping the brush, you will want braid.....Otherwise, you are GTG with Floro

I use 17lb Stren Original for worms and jigs and 14lb for most else. Your 17lb will work fine.
thanks for the input......glad i dont have to throw away 25 bucks worth a line

The stronger line does make it fairer for the gators though, with the lighter line they tend to make off too many anglers.![]()

Don't worry bout them gators, just don't try to kick em![]()

I thought the number one rule was don't try peeing off the side of your boat. Anything hung over the side could be mistaken for gator bait.![]()

I was using 17 lb stren original for EVERYTHING except my senko rod (12 lb), and my flipping rod (25 lb), and my spinning rod (10 lb)

Choke has some TEXAS size gators. It is really neat watching them in the wild.

Squaw Creek...........MY FAVORITE LAKE........I am with you Stompy, I want that lake open so bad I can't stand it. It was always great for Summertime fishing, because nobody went there, except the catfishermen.

Your spot on, did my best in late spring and early summer when nobody's there. Afraid that memories will have to do on Squaw, dont think it will ever be opened again. Can you imagine what it would be like to fish it for a day, we can only dream.![]()
