    Getting from Laredo to Zapata

Hey Texas forum...Do you guys have any suggestions for getting from Laredo airport to Zapata February 20th? I have some friends going to be there and I would like to fly in and fish with them a few days.. Didn't know if there were any shuttles. thanks for any info.

It's either have your friends pick you up at the airport or get a rental car/truck.

Hey Jeff, from Laredo to Zapata you would either need to make arrangements to have your friends pick you up at the airport or rent a vehicle. From the Laredo airport south to Zapata its around an hour's worth of driving time or 50 miles. Just jump on Hwy 83 and head south to Zapata, at times from the highway you will be able to see the Rio Grande that separates Texas and Mexico that forms Falcon Lake.

Too bad you wont have time to investigate Lake Casa Blanca right at the Laredo airport. That little lake has given up its share of lunkers as well.

Good Luck and enjoy our part of the world down here, hope you hook the fish of a lifetime.

    Debra,

Thanks for the info..I am sure I will love your neck of the woods. I have spent a good bit of time at Fork and Rayburn and but not been this far South. I am looking forward to it. my friends are going to pick me up Friday afternoon at Laredo. i will see if they are interested in trying the lake out there. Public I am assuming? We are also looking for a couple guides to go out Saturday. they were interested in getting a couple guides to take them out but use their own boats so they can mark some trails and areas with their GPS. If you or anyone you know is available and would be interested please let me know.. Thanks again, Jeff
