Evinrude 250 ETec HO - Any Issues

A friend of mine is about to purchase a new 250 E Tec HO. He had a 225 E Tec HO. He ran the 225 for 3 years with absolutely no issues. An awesome motor. We just talked to a guy who went through 3 250's that all had to be warrantied.

He is now a little apprehensive. Are there any issues he should know about with the 250's.

The new 250's are a bit better than previous models. They have added a knock sensor to correct some of the issues with older models.

As far as I thought the E-Tecs were awesome.
