I saw a TV add for higher performance on your vehicle by reprogramming the computer module and it got me thinking. If this can be done for my truck can the same thing be ackomplished with my 09 175 Etech. This motor wasn't offered as a HO version but can I somehow increase the performance? I'll never know unless I ask.
I don't know about Canada, but in the US , it's illegal to tamper with the EMM for emission reasons. The guys here don't do hop ups but mabye someone can help you where to look for some help where you are. Any tampering with the EMM will void warranty and reliability. Just something to think about.
Fair enough, I'm maxed out on HP for my boat but faster is fun and I've already had Mark do some magic with the prop.
Most of the "reprograming" of car ECU's doesn't result in that much of a gain in power. I mean its not like you are looking at gaining 30 hp, and I doubt BRP is going to leave much on the table either.
Now if it was boosted, then I think you could do something. I have wondered about the 200 I-4 Verado engine, and upping the boost. What if you ported the head, and lowered the compression, and raised the boost? Might be interesting.
