Question Rub Rail Nav Lights - Install Question

I am looking at installing the LED strips for Nav lights on the bow on the rub rail. I know they are not USCG approved and I still have the pole light, but I am having a hard time finding one that will be tall enough to see over the TM head.

For those that have done the strip install, any tips for how to get the wires into the boat to splice in?

I put the metal coast guard approved ones on above the rail. Phoenix boats come with them now.

I had the same issue when I replaced my Fotrex with a Ghost, found this...

    Amazon.com: Attwood NV6LC1-14-7 LED Light Pole - Bi-Color 14", Straight : Sports & Outdoors

Plenty high to see over the top of my stowed TM.

Trolling motor cable kept trying to hang up on the tall pole light that had so I got these lights made by TH Marine and put on my boat and really like them.

On my tracker, I drilled small holes at the end of the light strip and fed the wires through the holes into the bow.

Did you just silicone around the holes for the wires?

I pulled away the old rope and drilled a small hole for the wires to go into and then siliconed the hole and lay a bead of silicone for the strip to set into and they have been there and working for over 20yrs here are a couple pics this is a 300 series Ranger 1990 IMG_8755.jpg IMG_8756.jpg
