    Any damage done???

I have a 2007 EVINRUDE 150 HP outboard E/DFI=Y Serial # 05161005. I live in the north and keep my boat in a garage. Monthly i go out and charge the batteries. Today I went out and the charger said the batteries were under 8 volts and shut off. After checking I found that the key for the motor had been left in the on position. Been like that for a month. I guess the starting battery is shot. Trying to charge it now. Will this do any damage to my motor or starter. Can't test it in this weather. Please tell me that only the battery is shot.

That battery is toast but it should be the only problem related to the key being left on.

Not all that positive but I think that it would run the fuel pump on the motor the whole time the key was on.

Nope, the fuel pump only runs 10 seconds and shuts off.

Would the EMM motor hours show up as being run for a month at 24 hours a day? Just wondering!

The EMM counts two different hours: "EMM on" and "motor on". "EMM on" will have counted for the time the battery held up.

Torew - I am looking at an engine ID report and I see Engine hours and EMM Hours . Is that the on and off difference

Yep, that's right. "Engine hours" is the motor running time.
