I gotta say that leaving Friendswood on Friday afternoon headed either to Abilene or Austin for the weekend was always an experience. I remember coming around the beltway, if the traffic was standing still on the bridge that crossed over to get on the Katy freeway, I'd go around to 290 and hope the traffic was moving there.![]()
I feel so sorry for ya'll
not.

I knew you could always count on Skip for sympathy. He knows I'd do the same for him.![]()
See, that's why I don't live in cities, especially Houston or Dallas. I drive 40 miles to work and it takes me 40 minutes!!
Did you ever stop to think....and forget to start again?
But that's the same 40 minutes it takes you going to the grocery store.See, there's trade-offs everywhere. But I agree. That's why I won't retire anywhere close to this place.

No, no...........the grocery store is accross the highway, maybe 1/2 mile from the house. I live in a town, just not a city.My point was that as far away as I am from work, it doesn't take me any longer to get there than it does to get almost anywhere in Dallas or Houston.
