This is a 1956 JOHNSON 15hp. In one source the colour is refered to as Dupli-Colour Cayenne Red, #EDSGM479. Available as a spray Can Enamel.
In 1957 it was refered to as Holiday Bronze. PPG (Ditzler), Holiday Bronze #21524. Mix at auto paint store. Acrylic Lacquer.
Here is a picture taken from the 1956 brochure. Click on the picture for the complete brochure. These brochures are being digitized & will be available shortly on CD as JPEG and Adobe pdf files together with almost all of the JOHNSON, EVINRUDE OMC range. If you want a copy email me on liquidnirvana@y7mail.com

thanks much for the info.... brochure (pic) is beautiful
I will start hunting down that color as soon as I can try this engine out in the Spring. Based on what I see I think it will be a good runner
I went cheap and modified the engine to run on a Mikuni pump. I am just annoyed at BRP selling there fuel pumps at 90$ plus taxes ...![]()
