I've replaced the impeller on my 2000 115 before and several smaller outboards. The case bolts on the 115 were seized and stripped on the way out and required stainless heli-coils when I reassembled it. When I removed the bolts there was a lot of corrosion and there was no sealant on the bolts. When I reassembled it I used the "monkey snot" to seal them. I think BRP calls it Gasket Sealing Compound and they refer to using it in my BRP 2002 250 book. I use my outboards solely in salt water. You didn't mentioned sealing the bolts in your article. Any comments about this? Thanks.
