    Earliest Model of Helix 7

    Ok,

So I will try and explain what I am looking for and see if it makes sense to anyone else. Right now I have a Helix 9 Chirp SI+ GPS G4N CHO at the console. I have a Helix 7 Chirp DI+ GPS G3N at the bow. What I want to do is move the Helix 9 to the bow and get myself another Helix 7 for the console and run 2 up there. One I would mostly use for Chirp and 2D mapping on a split screen and the other would like to use it for SI or DI or a combo of both. If I am able to find a good used model what is the earliest generation I can go to just to use it for the 2D and Chirp? I also have an Terrova and an ethernet switch so all my units are networked together. Eventually I want to add a 360 or live and figure the Helix 9 would serve me better for that up front. I have a Lund Adventure Sport 1775 and it is very restrictive on what size I can put at the console so that is why I was thinking of putting 2 Helix 7s there. Hope that made sense to you all.

    Thanks in advance,

    Steve

I think the earliest Helix 7 for the use you intend would be an Helix 7 G2N .

Correct, there were no networkable first generation Helix 7's.

Hey Wayne, one more quick question on this. Getting a HELIX 7 MDI GPS G3N CHO and add that to my network with my other 7 and 9, will allow me to still get info from my transducers to it correct? I don't need a transducer connected to the unit, just power and ethernet I hope. :)

Sort of, you cannot share transducers, what is shared is processed data between/among networked units.
Yes power and Ethernet for a CHO model.
