Matt, if you go by "letter of the law", what you did was perfectly legal. The rule says the fish become property of the tx committee. The tx committee gave the fish back to you, so now they're your fish to do as you please. The rule doesn't say, "all fish become property of the tx committee and will be immediately released".

That is what I thought. How can he justify not allowing us to fish the classic.

Can't say I see a stand out reason to not let you fish their classic.Unless you didnt pass a polograph or stress test given after their tournament.
But after fishing that area several times I can see why you should put all fish back after weigh-in. Number one its against NC State and Federal law to transport wildlife (including fish) for the purpose of stocking. So if their tournament rules include the phrase contestants should obid by all NC fishing regulations then yes you broke the rules. Inwhich opened the door for others to question your ethics & cry to the tournament directors.
And after being around the people from that region I can understand how "they" got the feeling you might be putting fish in your pond making possible for you to have easy access to a good limit on tournament day.It don't take much money to get things done in that county which makes people not trust anyone.
I peady anyone if they did cheat and got caught. Those folks would not call the law they would use the guys for Saturday nite entertament....lol

Its like I told the man give me a polograph or ride with me and I will show you how to catch them. I have nothing to hide. Just people jealous and tired of getting beat on their home water.

    Thanks, Matt

    yet more tournament drama......

Matt, congrats for a solid record and for laying down the gauntlet and telling them that you'll take the poly and also show em how you're catchin' em. If they can't take you up on either then they ought to just be quiet and stay out of your way.

Lot of people get bent out of shape when somebody new shows up and wins. Got a guy I know of TN dealing with the same crap because he's handing the local their arses and they just can't handle a new guy or someone doing something or thinking differently than they do it and have been doing it.

That happens any where and any time money is up for grabs.
I had close to the same thing happen several years ago when Mike E and I decided to fish on of the Badin weekend night tour. He and I happen to luck into 17lbs with 5 fish and the closest anglers only had 8lbs that night . You could feel the tension in the night air and hear low whinning like," them fish didnt come from this lake" in the back ground. If it had not been for the tour director I'm sure harsher words would have been spoken.
The badin tour director steeped in and stopped the whinning and shook my partner and my hand and invited us back then told the others these guys whip our a$$ and they are welcome back next week so y'all can have a chance to get your money back.
Its been 3 years and many friday and Saturday visits to their tours and I have always felt welcomed as an outsider.
All up to tour managment as to how his tour are ran!
but never give someone a opening to start rumors (like putting live bass in your live well and taking them home).
AS dad use to say keep you pants up & your noise clean when your out on the town and you want have any blood on your shirt when you get home.
    Good luck Matt!

Sometimes it is better to let sleeping dogs lie. It has been my experience that when "officials" cater to a few select, it is only a matter of time before everyone else gets pissed and leaves.

No points for the Rally come have some fun and meet some of your fellow BBC'ers we don't bite and actually play well together. The Mini ain't about big $$ it is more of a happening with some fishing tossed in. If you are married there will be married couples there, some old hand some newlyweds. Best part is you are more than welcome this is just for fun and camaraderie.
