It's been about 3 weeks since I've last been. Senko's have worked well and CB's with Blk/Wht. If you find rocks, fish them. But like I said, it's been 3-4 weeks. The water level changes so much there, it's hard to tell from week to week.

I was there Saturday...they pulled water like crazy and I should have had 20+ lbs...had some new jigs that for some reason the fish kept pulling off of...I threw them all into the lake and after digging out my old favorite True South jig I put 13 lbs in the boat and won our club tourney...my no-boater won big fish with a nice 5lb'r...all caught within sight of the dam.

Steve, what kind of jigs were they so I'll know never to buy them. I had that same problem once and couldn't figure it out, low and behold the hook had a small rubber protective tip at the end of the hook. I was ticked. Never seen that before so it's not something I was paying to close attention to.

Jig/schmig.....no doubt they work but it's Summer time my man!!!! Save that thing for when this won't work. Now get on the frog with some braid and put in the heavy stuff!

Sounds like a mini rally for some cash might be in order. Wateree sounds good to me. Set it up.

Sounds good to me but lets do it when I'm back from Reno. Don't want to miss this one.

    Re: Lake Wateree (scoobyskeeterfx210)

They were Shooter knock-offs...I very seldom use a jig with a vertical eye....now it will be even less so...

Wateree grass will never compete with Wateree current...problem is the grass is there all the time...the current...not so much

    Re: Lake Wateree (SteveDyer)

A lot of people have tried to copy the Shooter Jigs...we even stopped carrying a net...won the NBC points 3 years in a row and only lost 1 fish on a Shooter Jig that jumped off...can't even tell you how much $$ we have won on Wateree with a Shooter Jig or Murray or Santee or Wylie...you get the picture...we like the vertical eye because you can fish it through brush easy...Ya'll really wanna fish a Sat get together at Wateree? I would love as I dont get to fish much anymore with the CATT Trail going on...how about later this month?

Pick a Date for a Wateree Mini Rally but please don't get too close to the Smoky Mnt. Rally. I drag Chuck down since he is boatless bank trash for the time being

    Re: Lake Wateree (scoobyskeeterfx210)

I'm in as long as Boots drags my sorry carcass with him as I'm just a piece of boatless bank trash drift wood or dead weight and also an ATM machine anyway when it comes to fishing these derby's!

I figure I can put gas in the suburban and tell jokes so he don't fall asleep while we're makin that haul South!

Sounds good to me, let's make it happen captain!!!!

If you are going to wateree you might as well just hand Brett your money before blastoff.
I don't always find schooling fish but when I do I backlash on the first cast
