Looking to take a trip in early October and have been to douglas a couple of times but always in early August. Would prefer Douglas due to the fact family is coming with me and there is plenty to do in that area but I have been wanting to try Dale Hollow. My question is how is the fishing on Douglas in October? I know they draw the lake and was wondering how much this affects navagation ect. Any help would be appreciated.
If you are familiar with the lake level in August I would say it will be down 20 feet in October, give or take 5 feet or so. I've had good success in the mid part of October. If I was visiting a lake with my family I'd pick Douglas just because there is plenty for them to do.

I love Dale Hollow at any time of the year and would normally point you in that direction. But with your family with you they will not have much to do in the Dale Hollow area. Nothing but the lake and some small towns around it.
