Just moved to MD, hope someone can answer a few questions

    Fellas,

I just moved to MD from Fl, chose a place in Glen Burnie, close to work. Prob is , no place to store my boat. So before I bring it up here, does anyone know of a nice place with cover that I can store it. Also, what are the price ranges I am looking at. Next, about how far will I have to drive to get into some good bass fishing?

    Thanks

The north east river (anchor marina- they have boat storage as well, not sure of pricing) on the chesapeake bay is where the majority of most event seem to be going out of. Should be about a 40 minute drive from where you are at. Be prepared for the toll $ (get an ez pass)especially if you have a dual axle trailer. Most events on the Bay seem to be taking around 18-22lbs to win and 14-16 to get a check. The upper chesapeake has the susqehanna flats/and river, you can find good mixed bags of smallies and largemouths. I beleive there is a few boat ramps over by Harve de grace that you can use, and also be prepared to pay 10 dollar ramps fees We aint in the south anymore...you have to pay to do everything up here! You also have the potomac river, small wood state park is where most bigger events go out of and shuold be about 2 hours from you.

You might want to check the boat sales around you, since some offer secure storage. As information for you on storage costs, I store my boat at the Leesylvania State Park in Woodbridge, VA and the 18' rate is $900 a year and includes parking and launch fees. It was $700 a year when I started storing there 10 years ago. The marina 1/4 mile away would charge me $1200 a year.
    Good luck.

Dundee marina on the Gunpowder river will probably be your closest option for getting into some decent fish. Has a bit of a reputation for being tough, but there are good fish in there.
Little further north is Havre de Grace. Will give you access to the same waters that Anchor marine will... flats, susquehanna, northeast, elk, sass.
That toll to come up 95 to put in at anchor will drain your wallet quick. lol.

Be careful on the upper bay. Lots of shallow areas and can get rough.
This chart isn't for navigation purposes, but will give you an idea of what your working with fishing wise...

Can't help ya with storage. I'm down in Crofton, just south of GB fairly often. Lots of public storage units in the area. I'd start calling around and looking for something with 24hr access and a roof.
My guess is that you'll be looking at anywhere from $75 to $100 a month.

I Keep mine at the Fort Belvoir Marina. Rate for active duty is based on paygrade. They often have discounts also. 24 hour access also. Might want to check out Bolling AFB - I know they have a marina and think they evne have stowage for boats.
