2002 225 Ficht RAM Fuel Injectors

The boat i have had its engine rebuild due to a faulty fuel injector.

Why would a faulty fuel injector cause an engine to blow ?

Are these injectors prone to issues if i decarb the engine with seafoam/deepcreep ?

I don't want to screw up the engine as it only has 10 hours on the rebuild.

Post your model and serial number. Did your mechanic hook up the software to check for any codes before the rebuild? I assume he did.

If the injector does not deliver fuel to the cylinder which contains the lubricant then it will self destruct. I believe an electrical failure of the injector will cause a fault, and put the engine into SLOW. I would decarb with BRP engine tuner and use SeaFoam as recommended as a fuel additive.

    That's pretty close.

If an injector or the wiring gets an open circuit, then the CHECK ENGINE light comes on. That is the only warning you would get about an injector.

If an injector or wiring shorts out, then the fuse blows.

If an injector gets dirt, varnish, or water in it or develops a mechanical problem, it could run leaner than it should and could cause engine problems. Sometimes mechanical problems, debris, or carbon buildup can make them run rich or leak fuel from the tip. In any case, the motor would exhibit drivability problems.
