    Beltsville Lake

Looks like the closest unlimited hp body of water that is not tidal. How is the fishing there?

    Re: Beltsville Lake (Try this)

Beltz is a tough lake no doubt, never did too well there but have seen nice bags taken. I may try to get there one more time before it gets too cold.

    Good Luck!

Spent a couple hours on Beltsville yesterday. Managed 1 keeper LM around 3lbs.

Yep - I was one of them. Arrived at 7:00 am and parking lot was loaded already. I think everyone was pre-fishing for a tourny next week ?? Saw one largemouth chase the bait to the boat. That was it. Had to leave early (10:30). It looked like more and more boats were heading in with the nice weather.

I was in the tournament on the 9th and our motor wouldn't start so we had to quit.

To the original poster: Beltzville can be both the best thing and the toughest lake depending on the day. The average size smallmouth I catch out of that lake is far bigger than anywhere else I go, they can just be really tough sometimes.
