    Evinrude 150 XP Trim/Tilt ?

I have a bad trim motor and have it removed but can't find a serial /parts # on the motor itself. I can find the # on the back of the entire unit and it is 333010. # 186068 is on the tag. Model E150stlcca......serial # 1820335. The motor is a 1988 150 XP. If anyone could get me the parts # for the trim motor I would be gratefull.

Also when I took the motor off I see a lot of grey metal shavings type stuff coming out with the fluid. How would I get that cleaned out of the system before i
    installing the new trim motor.

Edit. I just touched the wires to the battery and the trim motor spun perfectly fine. What could I be up against now. I have changed the relays. Would something be wrong with the hydrolics?

    Thanks
    Chad Griswold

With the wires hooked back up and the motor not fastened into the Assembly try the trim switch and see if the motor runs. If it does then you probably have a problem in the T&T assembly. With metal shavings in the fluid I would suspect that! Follow this link using your model serial # to see the parts breakdown, that may help. http://12.2.215.22/pub/default...ds=EJ

I have hooked up the trim motor independent of the unit and it spun perfectly fine. I get the feeling that my costs for repair just went WAY up.

Not if you can find a good used unit.

So I replaced the hydrolics with a good used one, it worked. I put my old electric motor on it and it went up and down a couple times and died. Won't move and the motor is making a strange noise. I currently have the battery charger on the battery to eleminate that but could the motor be bad at the same time as the hydrolic assembly, could one cause the other?

Take the motor to an alternator shop and have them rebuild it for you.
