Bass? There Ain't No Stinkin' Bass in Clearfork Reservoir!

I last fished Clearfork about 20 years ago. I can't believe I waited so long to come back. Today, if I recall correctly, I caught just as many bass as I did 20 years ago. I can hardly wait to rush back here in another 15 or 20 years.

Although the action was slow, the time passed quickly while gazing at the bent over, brown weeds matting the shoreline, peering into the 1 foot visibility water or simply relaxing while the sounds of screaming engines and squealing tires washed over me from the boys of Mid-Ohio trying to tame the Keyhole Turn.

If you've never fished Clearfork, give it a try. From the time you put in on their steep, blind ramps until you return like a pinball through the stump field, this 8 MPH lake will give you an unforgettable day on the water.

Here's a pic of my big one:

p.s. Not to brag, but 20 minutes after this photo was taken, I muscled in a solid 10 incher. So technically that was the biggest.

Must be the time of the year. I have never fished it this late but in the spring or summer there is no place i would rather be. The water is usually clear and the bass usually big. This year i had a tourney there and got 5th with 10lbs and it took 16 to win. Give it a try early in the year up till late june and you'll catch lots of bass. The bass you are holding looks more like an Alum creek bass for me the past 2 years.

i haven't' been to clearfork all year but it is one of my favorites .....except the hole speed restrictions i wouldn't mind not WOT but 8 mph is agonizing during a T are the shad stacking up yet? fishing a trap later in the year there turns into the "shadmaster classic"

I'm beginning to reaccess my review of Clearfork. I went to my home lake, Portage Lakes, the next day and caught THE EXACT NUMBER AS I CAUGHT at Clearfork.

In fact, I adopt by reference the picture in the OP because it would have looked the same.

If I would have stayed at home and watched the Browns make fools of themselves I would have caught as many.

Do you think it is me?

    Nope...don't think it is you.

We fished a TX on West Branch this past Sunday and if it weren't for my Dad in the back of the boat...we would have goose-egged that one. He caught four in 35 minutes that went for 5.88lbs.....not a SINGLE fish after that!!!! I didn't have evem a short fish to throw back!!! lol It was alittle tough over the past week and a half....things will change....the fall bite is not in full effect just yet.
