DI Transducer connected to Helix SI Unit

Does anyone know if it is safe to connect a MinnKota Ulterra MDI built in transducer to a Helix 9 G3N MEGA+ SI unit? The Helix 9 SI unit will be sending SI signals to the transducer, but it is only a DI transducer, so will the Helix be damaged if there is no connection for the SI signals? I thought I saw a previous post about someone damaging their unit by doing this, but I wanted to verify. Thanks.

Yes, there is a setting for it===Built-in HW + MDI

Your unit won't see sending any SI signals to a DI transducer, there is nothing their to receive them. It will be broadcasting on two unloaded circuits which you don't want to happen.

So I just select the "Built-in HW + MDI" transducer on the Helix SI unit and it will operate without damaging it?

    Yep

The unit has 20 Connected Transducer choices without the MEGA 360 and has 5 choices with the MEGA 360 recognized.
You can dumb the unit down to a 83/200 kHz 2D-only unit if you want.
