    Getting Antsy

Getting antsy for the fall bite. Moved here in June and only been fishing one time since my boat is broke. This morning when I get off work I will be dropping the $900 for hydraulic steering so my boat gets back on the water. Not this weekend but the next I will be on Kerr trying my luck. Any advice for the lake.?

Some top water schooling action has been reported on main lake points. Find the herring and you can find a few bigger LM. Striper fisherman have been reporting 4-6 lb LM on spoons and bucktails in 35'-40' while trolling for stripers. As Chris said really hit and miss right now.

I found schoolers this time last year between Hibernia and the dam. Other than that it was pretty tough.

    COASTAL NC GUYS...WARNING!!!

As a La. guy whose Momma is from near Callao, Va. (and I spent some summers there on the Chesapeake)....

    Please TAKE THE STORM SERIOUSLY!!!!!

Prepare NOW with extras in case power is lost a few days, board up what winds can break and store what winds can move easily....
Unless you have been in 95mph winds in your house (I was as a teen 1965 for Hurricane Betsy)...
you may be terrified when you see what winds over 75mph or 95 or 105mph can do...
    be safe...and good luck...

Be very careful. When the water is low there are some really scary rocks around some pints. When running stay in the middle. Good luck.
