We would love to be able to hold WOW other places besides Jordan but the problem of getting 150 servicemen and women that far away would be to hard.

    Just parachute 'em in.

I've fished as a boater the past two years and I'm already confirmed as a boater for next year. A special time / tournament to see them parachute in the flag for the National Anthem and everything you guys do to put this tournament on. Having KVD there was awesome last year !!!

The first year I fish with a solider named Klien from Texas.... thought he might be kin to Gary Klien since he was the only he was the only one catching fish. And, for this one day that as just perfect. We only caught one keeper that day to weigh in but at least he caught it and got to carry it across the stage for the weigh in.

He'd only been back from Iraq for less than a month..... You guys do a great job !!! [quote=dk239]We would love to be able to hold WOW other places besides Jordan but the problem of getting 150 servicemen and women that far away would be to hard.

Re: Warriors on the Water (rtinplnc)

This year there should be more fish weighed in with the new 14" size limit. Thanks again to all who volunteer. We can't do it without you.

Re: Warriors on the Water (riverhawg)

Warriors on the Water is a Military Appreciation Tournament that we have held for 5 years. We take 150 servicemen and women out for a completely free day of fishing. We have volunteer boaters that come from as far as Florida and Indiana. We have sponsors that give fishing tackle and other gifts for Goody Bags that we give to the participants. We also have a meet and greet night the Wednesday night before the tournament so that the servicemen and women can meet their partners. You can go to http://www.warriorsonthewater.org and get a good idea of what we do.

Re: Warriors on the Water (dk239)

I'm signed up for my second year. I fished the tournament this year and had a great time. Well worth the day off from work. I plan on being there for as long as you have them. We should have some of my club members signing up this year. Great cause and a well organized event. I'm amazed at how smothly everything ran with all of the different possibilities for problems, hat's off to you and your crew David

Once again we can only do what our sponsors and volunteers help us do. You guys are the ones that should get the credit.
