    200zx handling problem.

Just purchased this 2007 200zx with 200 Yamaha Hddi skeeter in May Having problem with the handling. Taking 25 mph turn and the boat loose traction like floating and sliding !! Has 12" jack plate Running with 25 pitch Yamaha prop. Prop is 2" below pad and jack plate is 1 1/2 inch on 5th notch hole on Slide master jack plate. Is my motor too high ? I am going to try to lower my engine next week to try see if that is the problem. Any suggestions ?? Thanks.

Yes, I always trimmed down when I go in to the turn. This is my 7 bass boat and I should be hopping in any bass boat and do a regular turn.

My 08 does the same thing sometimes. I'm just used to it I guess. I rarely take turns that slow, so it doesn't really bother me since it runs fine at higher speeds. My prop to pad is 2 1/4".

Do you think maybe because of Skeeter hull design at that slow speed it's just not leaning enough to catch the turning chine on rear corner of sponson?.....and so it's sliding on the pad before catching??

Mine is set at 7 dots on the jack plate. I believe that's what the factory set them at.

My 08 handles the same at slow speeds on curves. Does much better at higher speeds on curves

Can you go on Skeeter website and tell them you have the same problem. I already talk to the manufacture rep. He told me he will talk to there hull engineer and will get back to me.

If you're running 25 and the motor isn't tucked, I'm surprised you can drive the boat. Probably porpoises badly.

Push the hot foot down and go on. Every boat handles differently. It's a Skeeter. It wants to fly.
