    new cranking Battery

I have got to get a new cranking battery. Need at least 1000CCA and would like it to be maintenance free. Also group 27 or larger.

    Any suggestions

    1,000 CCA's, that's a lot!

If you're looking to get by for a few years and save some $$, then try Gander Mtn. They carry Interstates. The group 27's are around $80 (with trade in of the old battery.

I just replaced one of my deep cycles from there. The old one had dropped two cells, so I replaced it. I'll probably go there this Saturday to look at replacing my cranking battery.

Oh, these are NOT maintenance free. They're wet.

Must be running a Optimax, I have the Interstate and I think it's a group 24 w/1100 c/a I believe the group 27 is a big trolling motor battery.

Tom, I recently replaced my cranking battery with a new DEKA 1000 CCA cranking battery. I was tired of losing juice halfway through a tournament day. I just returned from four consecutive days of fishing, running the livewells and electronics all day long and not once did my battery require any recharging at the end of any day. It was very affordable compared to the Optimas and I couldn't be happier. Think it cost around $110. Good luck with it.

I also just replaced my cranking battery, only lasted one year. Bought a Bluetop Optima and its great. After being stranded or jumping from my trolling during the last tourney, this new battery is awesome.

Needing 1000 CCA is a special battery, most Deep Cycles won't work. Check very close. Just Battiers on Hwy 150 Mooresville has All brands and very good priced. Ask for Dan

Found a heck of a bargin on an Optima blue top. I believe it is a D31M, 1125 cranking amps. This sucker is heavy ---But if the Rude will push my big ass it should be ok with a little extra

Also got me a Carrot Stix
