Would anyone be interested in helping these kids out?

    Hey Guys
I thought I would posts this to see if there are any interest in forming a group to help out. This is being held by the Sunday class my sister-in-law is in.

The Benjamin Moye Classic Kids Fishing Tournament will be held on Saturday, September 20 at High Rock Lake. The tournament's goal is to build a fun, once in a lifetime event into the childhood memories of kids that have possibly never been fishing and probably never been on a boat. More importantly, to share the greatest love known to mankind, the love of Jesus Christ.

If you are interested in participating, the following areas would help us reach the goals mentioned:

Anglers/Boats-If you or you know of someone that has a boat and would be willing to show a child how to fish, please let me know. The boat would include the angler, child and counselor. Any type of boat will do! Please do not feel that you have to have a bass masters rig to participate! We just want to get the kids on the water.

The Thomasville Baptist Children Home is home to school aged children (approximately 8-16 years old) from various circumstances. In some cases, the children may not know or have parents, in other cases, the home life is so bad that they cannot be supported properly. In other cases, the older children may have made some wrong decisions and they end up in the home. Each situation is different. Our Sunday School class met many of them at Christmas time when we took presents to all of them. They are a special group of children that need a tremendous amount of love. They are always so grateful for what we do for them and love when we come to see them. The counselors are great as well. In fact the girls in the class continue to stay in contact with the female children. They love spending time with them.

I have been told that there are 35 children expected to participate in the fishing tournament.

    Sponsors

If you know any place of business that would like to contribute, please let me know. Their contribution will be tax deductible and we will also include their business name on the back of the t-shirts.

Pray-Please pray that God will provide us with the tools that we need to make this an event the children will not forget. Also, please pray that the children will see God's love and will have a hunger to know the Lord.

As a side, the children will also receive a fishing rod and reel to keep and will also receive a tournament T-shirt. Trophies and medals will also be awarded in various categories.
