    dual 9" vs single 12"

Toasted my console graph... trying to decide on dual 9" graphs or a single 12... or 16...

Opinions on dual 9's? I am leaning that way partially due to the benefit of having 3 total (2 console, 1 bow) in the case that i lose another one I'll still be operable with 2 left...

    Thanks!

Personally if it’s between two 9s or one 12, I’m like you and would lean towards two 9s. For the reason you mentioned.

2x9. Less fiddling, more graphing and mapping.

I get the idea of having a back up and if you have an issue you will say I’m glad I have the second one but.... I would do the single larger unit at both locations. In my opinion the larger screen allows better detail when viewing side images yet when running down the lake the split screen allows plenty large map/2D visibility. What fits best mounted on the console?

Nothing really fits at the console, it's an older Champion...

I like the idea of 2 units, instead of one. I use 2 7" units on bow. One for graph, one for GPS. it was either that, or one 9" or 10". I like 2 separate units.

I haven't had a single large unit yet. but I do like how I can set up my 4- 9" units to do specific tasks, also I don't always use 2 at the dash, most of the time I only use one at the dash unless I am searching new water. Saves power.

I have had two 9’s and 2 12’s at the console. 2 9’s better than one 12. One 15 or 16 vs two 9’s is my vote

Imo, the 9 has a better resolution. I run a 9/12 combo and like that, but recently decided to go 2-12’s.

I run 2 9's on the console and I like it. I do side and down on one and maps and sonar on the other

I did the two 9’s last year and swapped to one 12 mid year. I prefer the one 12 over all for use and visibility. One 12 fits under the cover better then two 9’s did(if that matter to you). Probably really depends more on how you like to use them. When speeding across the lake I am always just on map. When scanning I use a 5 split, bottom half side scan, top left map, top middle sonar, top right down scan. That works really well. When I had 2 9’s I would use one as a map and the other as side, down, sonar..
