    Heavy Duty Hub question

    2B575986 250 pro 4s
    I removed some line from my prop shaft
    Do these black pieces suppose to come off? I never seen any that did so I didn’t know what to think
    noticed a small amount of chatter... thanks for any answers

    The adhesive on the snubber strips has failed. You can try to reattach them or buy a kit from Mercury with new adhesive backed strips. Running without the snubber strips is not a good idea.

    Yes. I would think the extra clearance without them in place would allow prop chatter. The rubber strips would have a dampening effect.

    Pretty common for them to come loose.. Lots of exhaust heat.
    Clean off old glue then scuff up the plastic with emory cloth to give the adhesive something to grab. The red hi-temp silicone works good.
    And yes if those strips were not inside it will chatter bad--- if it still chatters with them -- I would suggest getting the new style hub.. It sure helped mine..

    you are talking about the SSR HD hub?
    i read where some said it was difficult to install it a it a trick to it or something?

    Yes sir..Very tight fit and harder to get back out. I have to switch props often so I use these to assist. The wood block to tap in and the round one to tap back out.Prop tools.jpg
