    150 etec starting trouble

I just bought a brand new 150 etec in May. Everytime i have used it, it is hard to start on the first crank up ( it takes up to 15 times sometimes to get it started). Once it is started, the rest of the day it will usually crank up on the first crank. Are there any new updates for my engine concerning hard start up?

    My model number is E150DSLSC

    My serial number is 05199490

    Any help would be apprieciated.

Get it back to your dealer and have him check it out.

Do as Elgin says because your engine should start almost instantly.

Re: 150 etec starting trouble (chuck21)

The nearest place to me is an hour and a half to 2 hours away. I called my dealer about it after the second time i used it. He said they haven't had any trouble like that with any of the etecs, so we decided that i should use it for a little while and see if it corrects itself. Two months later, the problem seems to be getting worse. I guess no matter what, i will still have to bring it in. I was just hoping someone could shed a little light on this problem.

P.S. I traded in a 2 year old 115 etec for the 150. The 115 started on the first crank every time from 30 degree weather to 100 degree weather. It ran awesome and i didn't have one problem with it. That is why i am a little frustrated with the 150. Oh well, thats a boat for ya.
