    Accomadations near Candlewood lake

Planning a trip there in May and I'm looking for a decent place to stay that's close to a launch and that will accommodate the bass boat. Any suggestions? Thanks, Brian

I always stayed at the Best Western in Danbury. Good clean place Just off exit 8 I think. Go to the Danbury Chamber site the have lots of places. If you are looking for a place close to Squantz Pond Park there aren't any.

Have fun and remember 55 degree water means the smallies will be on beds. The big largemouthes will be pre spawn and lots of fun..

PS Remember the 45mph speed limit there. It cost me 157.00 and a DQ in a tournament.

ditto on the speed issue, they don't want bass boats on this water and will ticket everytime they get the chance.....

I've heard very good things about the quality and quantity of bass in Candlewood. I hope its all true. Not fishing a tourney there, just out to have good time with my brother who is from Mass. I'm from Pa. and i thought candlewood would be a good lake lake to meet and catch some bass!

I live on the lake and there are a few decent place to stay. Microtel in Bethel, Twin Tree Inn, Brookfield are two I would recommend. If you need any more info just ask...

Thanks for the Info! We booked a room at Twin Tree. I think we're gonna launch out of Lattins Cove, how is the launch and the parking there? We're gonna be there a couple of days, any pointers on where we should start? Thanks again for the info!

Lattins is ok, but I think you'd be better off launching from Squantz.

Why is that? Can you get to CWood by boat from Squantz pond?

brian, there is squantz pond then there is squantz cove. the cove is part of candelwood and has a state boat ramp which is much better than lattins cove. squantz pond and squantz cove are seperated by a causeway they do not connect. you said that you are staying at twin trees I think that is in brookfield right? If so it is about 5-6 miles from lattins cove and probably double that to squantz cove. If you can stay in danbury or bethel you would be more centrally located.
