    trim switch needs replacing?

92 OMC flush mount control. Trim switch has gone bad. How do I get it apart to replace it? My guess is it has a set screw that holds the arm onto the shaft.

    Anyone know for sure? Thanks.

Yep it is an allen head, you have to shift it to reverse to get to it. DO NOT move the shifter to any other position with out securing the set screw after you fix the switch, it is a bear to get it back right.

Thanks for the info. Do you know how I can find out the part number? I have a shop manual but it does not cover this control......

you can go to http://www.evinrude.com and go to the parts/accessories store...I would look for the exact p/n for you, but the website is playing the a$$ at the moment.
