DI software off ebay

I brought this software off ebay but can,t get it to work on my laptop. Need help from anybody who can solve the proplem with it Thanks Dan

What operating program on the lap top?

I brought the 1.42b software. The other question is windows xp. The motor is a 2004 di 225ho.

You need DOS to run that software, however the second post down under one stop shopping talks about a work around to run it on XP. Take a look at it.

Can you order the new software from your dealer? I've wanted to order the one on ebay, but my laptop doesn't have a serial port. I can get my USB to work in DOS, but I doubt my usb/serial adapter would.

How do you make it work on a laptop that does not have a 9 pin serial port. My computer has windows xp. Will this type of cd run using windows xp. The cd saids that 2002 or older will it work on a 2004. Can i use a usb to 9 pin connect adapter. I purchared a network card that makes a network port connector to a 9 pin serial port. Has anyone used one of these, does it work. I sure wish i could talk to somebody that tell me what i need to do or throw it in trash. Thanks I am right up here at lake murry columbia sc.
