    Meeting a BBC'er

What are your thoughts on meeting someone to go fishing from the internet? I've personally been fishing with 2 guys on here, met another during a tournament, and went to a football game with a guy from La. My wife thinks I'm crazy, like it's an internet dating site for fishermen.

All the people I've met have been good men, I'd call them my friends. Has your wife ever said, "what if he's a murderer or a weirdo?"

As long as you stay away from EP, you'll be ok.

On another forum, not this one, we've had a member event each year for the past three years. Once at Guntersville, once at Kentucky Lake, and one at Dale Hollow that just happened to coincide with the big rains and flooding throughout Tennessee this past May. Most of us had to cancel going to that one, but a few guys made the trip.
Every single person I met at both events I attended was salt of the earth. One of them is one of my best friends now, and one of the nicest, most caring people I've ever seen.
My wife thought I was crazy that first year for driving 6-7 hours to Guntersville to meet a bunch of folks off the internet, but I'm glad I did.

Wife thought I was nuts talking to a bunch of "strangers", but after time some of these folks are my best friends. Then she found facebook...

    Re: Meeting a BBC'er (haveme1)

hahahaha we were laughing about this when we fished the other day. I met a strange man (BBCer) in a dark parking lot at 0500 on a Monday morning, and it turned out to be a fun day! My wife was laughing at me and said the same thing...what if he hops out of the truck with a chainsaw or you end up in an icy bath tub without your kidneys. This fishing thing brings us all together, you gotta love it. When we going again, Chris?

I sure did, plus I was shown how to get there from GPL or that ramp off of Exit 41. I will be taking a salad with me when I go.

the salad was delicious and the fish bit like crazy. We caught them on plastics, crankbaits and even one on a blade. 24 fish between my neighbor and I, we didnt launch till 0800.
