Re: SEBCOG OFFICIAL ROSTER-SIGN UP (JayLaw)

    From Kelly White- Event organizer:
Ok here it is....we are getting closer to the 4th Annual South East Bass Cat Owners Gathering (SEBCOG)! I wanted to pass some more informaton along and summarize a few things. (I cant believe its been 4 years already!)
    Dates: Oct 2 and 3, 2010
    Lake Guntersville AL
Entry fee: $150/boat for both days
Hours: safelight til 4 on day 1, safelight til 2 on day 2.
Hotel: Val-Monte (formerly Covenant Cove) 256-582-3348

Once again we will be based out of Val-Monte, formerly Covenant Cove. I have secured a block of 13 rooms with double beds (4 on lakeside, 9 on mountainside) at a rate of $55 per night. That is the best rate they have ever given us! The rooms are blocked off from Sept 27 to Oct 2. There is also a group rate of $115 per night for a suite is your interested. There was some miscommunication about dates when I first spoke with them about the dates, but we worked around it. The only drawback is that everyone MUST be checked out on Sunday morning so that they can get rooms ready for another group coming in later that day. I dont see this being a problem, as you can pay for all your nights when you check in or that Saturday evening you can settle up your bill, and just leave your roomkeys in the room. Cory, the GM of Val-Monte, is the person I spoke with and worked the deal. He was an employee there when it was Covenant, and looks forward to having us back again. He informed me they have new beds/linens, and and ask that there not be any pets or smoking in the rooms...other then that we are free to enjoy ourselves as always!
Bad news...Blue Parrot is closed...Good news...it has reopened under the name Rounders so we still have the bar next door!
We will be operating out of the hotel as we have in the past: registration will be on the grounds there (possible with pizzas donated by Dominos) on FRI evening; launches will be out of the ramp as you come in towards the hotel as we have before (Spring Creek across from the steakhouse); daily weigh ins will be at on the grounds using the piers in front of the hotel (John Melton...please read that several times and write it down on your hand! ) Cory and his staff are wonderful people and are waiting for us, so lets make sure we take them up on their hospitality and book those rooms! Get em while they are hot!!

I am working on several new things for this year. I am negotiating a catered cookout of some sort (bbq, etc) for that Saturday evening when we come in from fishing after weighin, to be paid for by a sponsor and NOT from your entry fee as I have done in the past. This will take place on the lawn area between the hotel and the water.

I am working on having a gauranteed 1st place pay out so stay tuned for that! Your entry fees will allow better/more payouts! Big fish award is in place from a sponsor!

We have many many fine sponsors for the event, that will making contributions of all kinds of things! These fine folks have gone above and beyond to help make this event a success. Many of them have been on board since the first SEBCOG, others are new...either way lets make sure we support them! As I have done in the past everyone that attends will receive a goody bag of tackle, etc! There will be raffle draw prizes as well.

Hopefully I will be able to have a BCB Elite Series pro or 2 stop by and visit with us as well!

This is just the first wave of information to pass on to you. As this updates I will let you know. Myself, Jay (onebadcat) and Dave Reuwer are working hard to make this the best yet, and a better basis to build upon for the future. It is up to you, the BCB owners to get there to make it a true success! We appreciate all that attend, and spread the word to all Cats you see on the roads and lakes!
