What to use on bolt threads and gaskets

I tore down a 1993 Evinrude 25 HP. During dissassembly the bolts came out easy (no broken off bolts). I had the motor freshened up by Finishing Touch Outboards. I am just about ready to reassemble and the service manual calls for OMC products for the bolt/nut threads and gaskets. I stopped by my local dealer today and they won't stock it because they have to buy a whole case at a time. And it was EXPENSIVE!!!!

So I'm back to asking the experts, what do I put on the stainless bolt and nut threads to keep corrosion out and keep them free to remove later. What do I use on the gasket between the exhaust housing and lower cover ? This motor is for use in brack and salt water.

I use Bostik never seez for engine rebuilds...It is for Hi temp applications and is the best stuff I have found..You will have to do a google search to find it...(I get it from work..)

Use the BRP grease called Triple Guard. It is the best for bolts in saltwater, better than the factory recommended Gasket Sealer. Use it on the propshaft and steering ram also for best results.

Thanks for the responses. After re-reading my original post it was not made clear that I tore the whole outboard down (I have a basket of pieces ready for paint: lower unit, exhaust housing, lower cover, tilt pieces, tiller pieces, & hood). The engine was rebuilt by Ted at FTO and already back together. Hopefully he used something on the bolts.

Triple Guard, eh? That must be the secret my local dealer wasn't willing to tell me. I've been wanting to buy some of that anyway. I'll give it a try.
