They have a night tournament there every Tues. Usually just takes a few pounds to win it this time of the year. Last night a guy won it with 30lbs. I didn't see it, but my friend I work with was there he is pretty reliable. Said the Guy came in with an 11lber, a 9lber, a six, and 2 more smaller fish . He said another boat had a 9lber. Also said the guy that caught the big sack missed one that was probably 12-13lbs. it straightened his hook out. Several other boats witnessed the near catch. Talk about a crazy night he was pretty upset cause he had like 9 or 10lbs. and thought he might win. And no there aren't any pictures.

they said he got the big un up to the boat and got a good look before the hook straightened. The lake has always had some big ones I've seen quite a few come out of there.

I always pass that lake on the way to Hattiesburg and wondered. That is a hefty sting anywhere.

I fish it several times a year and have seen some really nice ones come out of it especially from people shiner fishing. I just can't believe all that happened in one night.

I bought my boat from a feller down in Mendehall, go look on his wall, you won't doubt the size of fish in that lake!!!!!

I thought the same thing but my buddy said the guy was just using a big ol' worm 10 or 12" I can't remember. Said he was fishing just painfully slow.
