From what I understand the magnum is slower by 2-3 mph because the bullet has a larger diameter but are a little more durable. I would try to contact Gearcaseman(Eddie Pope) on the boards here, I'll bet he could help you out. Here's the number.

Thanks for the plug T-bone. Yes, the Magnum is 25% larger across the board, (Gears & Housing) than the standard or H.O. case. A very durable Gearcase, but still susceptible to the same dangers all cases encounter from time to time. There's just no way around it!![]()
...I lost 4mph with the Magnum when I replaced a standard 1998 Vindicator 225hp case![]()
I would give up a little hi speed, to NOT have to deal with ins co's!!! I'm running a mag or something other than a Lightning and hanging tough @ 75 MPH ......GPS!!!![]()
