Before you make your decision, take a look at the Falcon Bucco Swim Jig rod. Very versatile rod.
I typically use 3/8 oz spinnerbaits all year. The only thing I will do is go to a lure with double willow blades.

It's just a narrower spool. I'm not sure the difference in line capacity, but it's not much. The 1600 handles smaller baits better than the 3600.
