ThomasD, the battery BMS shutting down the battery only! When battery's shut down it's even more danger to the alternator. Shut down battery, wont turn off the alternator!

The reputation of the batteries has nothing to do with the problem..again... 60Amp merc alternator over working/heating when batteries are low. Please watch the video.

Victron IP65 shore charger single bank are waterproof. The Victron dc/dc are only rated IP43 so not really water resistance. This is -as I understand- charger which distribute power from alternator...
