If it's tilt steering, there's a "knuckle" in the tilt mechanism that tightens onto the helm unit with 2 allen head bolts. This could have loosened. If I remember correctly I think you can get at...
SIM Yamaha is good
I went from a 2001 OX66 to a new 2018 SHO. It was an easy swap. Shift and throttle cables, etc were the same but I had to buy the following:
- Pro Series II tach #6Y7-83540-90-00 (it has the oil and...
I think on many Yamaha's it's behind the dash mounted key switch assembly (mine is for sure).
The insert pushes back in really easy if you put it in a bucket of warm/hot water first.
Absolutely nothing can leak from those marks. All I would do is file or grind them smooth so they don't cause air bubbles when running which could cause some prop cavitation.
hi Mike....the little black cap is supposed to drop down when the cap closes to allow it to breathe. The screen is under that so you have to unscrew the larger part (it's plastic threads so will seem...
Unless it's different than my 02, you can see/access the vent just by flipping open the gas cap (it's on the underside of it)...

I know you checked the vent line, but there is also a vent screen built into the underside of the fuel cap that can plug up. You just unscrew it to clean...that's all I can think of you may have...
Your diagram is correct, so either the manual switch or the float (when you're not near the boat) will trigger the pump...
Looks to me like maybe your jackplate has less setback than ones that do not have the problem?? MKNJ671 (posted above) with 12" plate has no problem, so i'm guessing yours is smaller 6" setback, so...
on my 2002 the plate bracket hangs down under the left rear trailer step.
Note that there is also a check valve (small ball) in the tank fitting the hose attaches to that could be stuck. Many owners tap out (remove) the ball for less restricted fuel flow. I did on mine, or...
BCB is correct. I recently replaced both pickups on my Skeeter. The originals had a mesh "sock" on the bottom. You can buy replacement tubes which include the fitting at top from any marine supplier...
The "float" in that picture iooks like an electronic one, not a mechanical float....but it does the same job. It likely is the culprit and can be replaced with either type.
You should be able to see or access the troll wires by removing the cockpit floor drain cover also.
My 02 is also 6ga. The info is actually pressed into the wire casing, not printed on, so hard to see.
Just a thought....if your boat is a 2000 Skeeter, it likely has the small low oil and overheat lights on the dash as well as audible alarm. Any chance the wiring for these somewhere between engine to...
Absolutely possible.
I've done many oil changes on all vehicles and never seen that, but Thank You Very much for posting. I'll definitely look closely from now on...
ok, Thanks. Jescar also makes a "polish" for use before the sealant to remove minor scratches....
ok, thanks guys....i'll try again
Has anyone used Jescar Powerlock Polymer Sealant on their glass boat? I see it very highly rated on auto/marine detailing sites. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks
Although the up relay is clicking, it's worth a try to swap the up and down relays just to be sure it's not a "weak" one....
