My advice to anyone getting into rod building is to start with a kit that has everything you need.

Contact the manufacturer if the rod. They may give you the size needed or send you one for free

It's probably the foot control board. Mine did the same thing. I watched a video on YouTube how to replace it. It wasn't a bad job

Check with EZ- Troll. I installed one years ago and the Ultrex I bought last year fit just fine

When you order your new tip top order two and get 2/ 5.5 and 2/5.0 this will cover you if you need to replace any tip tops on your rods in the future
