I agree with NoCAL; there must be an issue with your transducer causing this.
You installed the spacer AND moved it up 10 inches?
I would add the spacer to get the beam further away from your motor housing, and if that doesn't fix the issue, then I would move the transducer higher on the trolling motor (around 10").
