Is a 8" hydo jack worth the money or go for the 8" slidemaster jackplate.

Would a 8" jackplate make the 294 handle any better.

Has anyone put gas springs on the battery compartment lid on a 294XL.
If so maybe put one on each side of the lid because its so wide it mite twist.

You can buy adjustable force type from McMaster Carr. I use them all the time in my sheet metal shop on safety guards. All you do is bleed off the gas. Mine are about 12" long of travel.

I have a 08 294xl i would also like to replace the stock cleats with (4) new popup cleats. With the popup cleats cover the (4) mounting bolts. The mounting bolts look like they are on about 1-1/8"...

Does anyone have some log files.

Most of the time its just me in the boat with livewell water.
I have about 6 hours on it so far.

Also what do you think about my trim guage only moving 1/4 from the full down....
