Not much to do other than replace the mount and the cover. Lube it up with triple guard grease and go. Some ETEC’s have the same problem after 10 years. Consider yourself lucky after 26 years.
Sorry to say nothing has popped out. There was corrosion and movement of the mount wearing from the inside out.
