Another important question: When it runs for 10 minutes, what RPM's is the engine running at?
Anyone been inspecting or changing Spark Plugs or Wires recently?
That would make sense... and isn't surprising as I believe (been about a decade since I even looked at one of these) that the ACU does not use the TPS, correct?
This would make air temp even more...
I'm a +3 on getting the info from diagnostic system before going any further.
If you would, please take a moment to review the Announcements at the top of the Forum, and be sure to provide the...
To answer your question, a Port Stat held open can indeed cause an overheat on the STB bank of cylinders (primarily at or just off idle).
In addition to checking the basics, you really need a Full...
Remove cowling and look down into the STB side of the engine until you find the throttle and shift cables.
See if perhaps the latch for the shift cable is loose and not snapped over the top of the...
So you're advancing the throttle, NOT "choking" it.
Thanks!
This was an OVERHEAT alarm. What you saw about "Water Inlets" was Smartcraft advising you of what you might be able to do on the water, to possibly rectify a simple cause. Doesn't mean...
Since it's actually a safety related item (Shift, Trim and Stop-Start signals involved) I would not recommend it. I would strongly encourage you to NOT take the risk for yourself, others around...
Interesting. Thanks for reporting back and sharing.
How are you giving it "Plenty of Choke"?
+1
I strongly suspect something simple has been or is being overlooked. Start with the BASICS: Compression Test, Spark Test (using a timing light clipped to each plug wire one at a time), fuel...
If you would, please take a moment to review the Announcements at the top of the Forum, and be sure to provide the Required Info (Serial Number) when posting. Thanks! :beers:
How many hours...
And still get 100K miles out of the engine the spark plugs are in?
:thumb up2:
Reeds that are not sealing properly.
Other thing you could do is to drop the gearcase and observe where you see oil on top of (or in) the gearcase.
I suspect the oil is running down from somewhere higher. It would be very difficult...
1: Unbolt tank, flip upside down before disconnecting supply hose at bottom of tank (much easier with lower cowling off). You can then use the old tank's oil to fill the new tank.
2: Not...
No sir. His engine is indeed a 3L.
No sir- it appears the handle assembly is the only option for the Gen1 DTS Panel Mount.
Are you running High Performance Gear Lube?
It's tough for engine oil to make the path to the water inlets unless there are multiple leaks
It's already out (and has been for a while now). Has NMEA-2000, Bluetooth AND Wireless. But that's just the hardware side (firmware may not be released for some time).
Ron- did you dissect them to determine if it was the semiconductor itself or the fitting/ends?
See the chapter "Engine Synchronization and Adjustments" in the Service Manual. You will need a timing light and a dial indicator (at a minimum).
^^^^ And that's where Advanced Range Optimization will be active, which trims the fuel delivery to achieve absolute best economy.
As for the question of Air/Fuel Ratio: Stoichiometric Ratio when...
