They don't make that rod anymore to my knowledge but if it's built on an NFC blank, you could email NFC and see if they know the blank it was built on and then have one made.

What blank are you building on? I have trouble finding good bass blanks under 6'6".
Agreed. For 110s and under, I'd go with the PB691MLXF. If you're throwing 110s and up, I'd step up to the PB691MXF. They're both awesome blanks and can handle a wide range of lure weights.
Yeah it makes a huge difference what exact spinnerbait and trailer you throw. The zman slingbladez finesse spinnerbaits have smaller frames and smaller blades than most 3/8oz spinnerbaits. The...
I throw a lot of the zman sling bladez power finesse spinnerbaits in rivers. I really like the Shimano expride 610M for this. For the 1/4oz baits you really need something lighter than most...
In order of preference, I would go with:
Aldebaran 50 mgl
Curado 70 mgl
Curado 150 mgl
If you want to go DC, the curado DC 150 would be your best bet but I don't think that's going to give...
Best bet may be a custom build. NFC has some longer "kokanee" rods. They're listed as 4-8lb but I wouldn't let that scare me. I think the lure rating is down to 1/16 on at least 1 of them.
Awesome. Thanks for the feedback.
Any chance you've built on the 808 NEO as well? I kind of ended up with one on accident (I swear I ordered a 765 but my invoice says different). Is that too...
I'm mostly a kayak fisherman and need to keep some versatile rods on the boat. Most of what I fish has smaller fish and smaller forage and I'd like to throw the 5" magdraft more often. A legit...
There are some of the Shimano Expride A 66M/MF rods around for just a hair over $200 that are awesome jerkbait rods. In my experience, they fish a tad lighter than their esteemed 610 brother, but for...
It's a $300 rod now, so it isn't priced like the old xray blanks. And the guides are even a step below with the SiC in lieu of the torzite that he initially made the kc9 zbones with.
So to answer...
Is composite ok? 76MHG Expride is great
For the jerkbait rod, the Castaway Skeleton Nano Topwater is a good choice. 69MF. It has a very soft top section but transitions to a good backbone. It's an excellent popper rod too.
For...
I use a daiwa tatula sv tw 103 with an aliexpress bfs spool to throw down to 1/10oz on ML rod. It'll absolutely launch a 1/4oz bait.
ETA: I feel like I've had this conversation somewhere before...
I've looked at Trika and the PAs but US and JDM. They're excellent rods from what I've read. I just really like split cork grips and I'm set on that. I realize I'm limiting my available options and...
Thanks. The steez and glx are 2 in particular I've been looking at.
Are there specific online shops that'll come off the steez that much? Lowest I've found is $450 advertised. And yeah the GLX...
I'm looking for recommendations on a dedicated bottom contact rod for targeting smaller river bass in a kayak using 1/4oz and smaller tx rigged craw plastics, shakey heads and "micro" jigs. A...
I weighed them on my kitchen scale. I suppose my scale could be off but its usually pretty accurate. 4.7oz isn't heavy in the realm of glass and glass Composite rods in my experience.
My deep...
For whatever it's worth, the expride a 610M glass weighs 4.7oz. For comparison sake, the expride a 610M jerkbait rod weighs 4oz and the expride a 7'2 MH/F weighs 4.5oz
And I would echo what the...
I can't help with the 7' M, but the 610M glass is my go-to for chatterbaits up to 3/8oz. It's just about perfect for the mini-max and the stealth blades, which is what I throw most of the time.
