The OP was referencing a Shimano product in his title, so anything Shimano is fair game. Rangerdawg prefaced his statement with "Dang.." which means anything after that is pertinant.

Always good to refernce the policy, and then hope for the best if the situation is outside of the written agreement.

How did it break?
1.These rods were once made as 1 piece rods and now they are made as 2 (grip joint). Cabela's website does not point this out. TW and Irod sites point it out.
2. No actual "fishing benefit over a...

Try Seguar R-18 Ltd from Japan, very managable and excellent castability and knot strength. It's a different breed compared to what they sell in the US.
I'll concur with the other contributors. Unless you have money to burn, their is minimal upside in paying double for the 18 Exist. With that said, some people want the newest and the best regardless...
If it matters to you, I would check to see if JDM Shimano's have warranties in the US.
"Custom" is a relative term, just like "lifetime warranty". They have a side of the business that makes rods to order for private label. If you paid the guy enough money I am sure he would make 30ft...

Most of thier lineups have a Seven Eleven,...
It's a really good question. As someone stated below, many (actually most) of the JDM rods and many of the reels are not made in Japan. I can think of a handful of actual Japananese made rods that...

Yikes...this pic if from the TWH page for the rod. Check out the jacked up wrap on the guide, not a great posterchild.
