Depends on the brand/model of braid. If it's PP or 832, it should be fine. If it's YGK X8 Upgrade, IMO, that's way too thin. I think if you use a more standard U.S. spec braid in the 15-20 range,...

Good tip Drew...I braid tie the R-bend on essentially all of my spinnerbaits and buzzbaits before they hit the water. This is an effective way to extend the life of the wire form on the bait.

Was the braid damaged already off the spool of line? Sounds like perhaps the T-Wing may be damaging the line when it gets to a hard angle in the corner of the levelwind travel.

The 7'7" MH moving bait rod is a true all purpose distance caster and handles everything from 3/8 - 3/4 oz chatters, 1/2 oz squarebills to 110 Whopper Ploppers, 3/8 swimjigs, Megabass...

FWIW, for me... braid+leader is a totally different rod to swimjig size application than straight fluoro or copoly.
