Quick question
I'm updating the electronics on my Triton. What component do I need to connect the 9 Live (Helm) to the 9 Carbon (Bow)? And is it really necessary? I'm learning this as I go. Thanks.
The plan is to use the 9 Live at the helm with the 3 in 1 transducer ( the one that came with it) on the transom/ jackplate and the 9 Carbon at the bow with a Ghost/ 3 in 1 nose cone.

You need 2 networks to take advantage of all the unit sharing and controling your ghost from any unit. Install Ethernet between your 2 units, Install a Nmea 2000 network connected to your Ghost, and ea unit on your boat. If you have a point 1 on your boat you may already have a NMEA altready. You will need the NMEA to update your Ghost. WIth the Ethernet you will share transducers,, Waypoints and mapcard between units. If you ever ad an Active Target Live Sonar you will need ethernet installed. Have Fun

If all you have are the two units and transducer, all you need is an ethernetcable between them. Ensure the Gen 3 is updated to latest software (18.2) before using ethernet between them, or your Carbon will enter Legacy-mode.
With your plan to add Ghost (or any other NMEA-device for that matter), you also want a NMEA2000-network to both units and all NMEA-devices.
