Anyone else have issues with Strike King pro series cranks?
Years ago I had an issue with these cranks getting a hole on the chest and filling with water, making them useless. It appears the front hook punctures it. So I steered away from them. Buy six more last week, and the exact same issue again.
I can't think of anything I'm doing to make this happen, and I don't have the issue with any other crank. Not bashing the product, just curious if anyone else has run into this.

I probably have over 30 Strike King Pro Series cranks and I've never had an issue with any of them. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif

I haven't had any issue either. I'd just put a little epoxy over the hole and fish on. I'm sure they will make it right with you though.

swell up and split down the back or belly when they get hot

Re: Anyone else have issues with Strike King pro series cranks? (fishhead210)
I wear mine out before they break or have holes open up in them..I have more problems with hole in bombers and excaliber than strike king. My only complaint with strike king is the paint wears off to quickly..

Re: Anyone else have issues with Strike King pro series cranks? (Fish_4_Five)
I'm glad no one else is having this issue. I've gone through dozens so I guess me and strike king just don't get along.
btw I've had zero issues with the KVD square bill. Just the pro series models.

Rapala shad rap, Rapala x rap shad, Lucky Craft, Bill Norman Middle N, Little N, and some locally (E. Tenn) made balsa cranks. I cant say if any of these are Chinese, but I just happened to notice the Strike Kings last month on a trip to Bass Pro, it really stood out to me. They were in fact awesome looking baits, Im sure will nail the fish on a given time, but I just couldnt buy one, not knocking anyone else who does.

I've hung some 15 to 17 lb. bass with some, and the line tie tends to bend some, small issue.

All my Academys have the lip split in half and come off....they all look cracked out of the box, or its a bad seam.

Re: Anyone else have issues with Strike King pro series cranks? (Fish_4_Five)
I had some of the bills split on mine last year. Sent them an email & never did hear from them. Started using the Bass Pro cranks & really like them.

Re: Anyone else have issues with Strike King pro series cranks? (darrall)
Problem I have with most of my cranks is kinda weird.
I'll explain it as best I can.
Doesn't matter what make or model use, whether it be Strike King, Bomber, Rapala, Xcalibur, Lucky Craft, etc....It just seems like every time I throw the freaking thing out, and reel it in, it seems to "snag' a bass! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif
Damnedest thing.........hey? http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/popcorn.gif

Re: Anyone else have issues with Strike King pro series cranks? (Fish_4_Five)
My biggest complaints are the hooks rusting and the 5's not running true. But my biggest issue is the rusting hooks. I started replacing hooks with another brand now I am buying other brands and staying away from the Strike King pro.
