http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/praying.gif for our troops over there
Lets see.... They execute our military leaders over burning books, nothing is done. One soldier crumbles under the stress of his deployment fighting FOR THEM and we'll pay the family millions of dollars and all will be forgotten. Sounds about right to me.
For some reason, I don't think we're getting the whole story. Prayers for all those involved.
I'm about sick and tired of hearing about hearing about "President Karzai feelings" His sheep herding azz would be dead or still herding sheep if it were not for our finest putting him in office.

The soldier will answer under the UCMJ.
BRING THEM HOME! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/USA1.gif
Terrible situation. I am confused over their leader asking for an explanation. Pretty obvious the poor guy snapped.
At one point, it seemed the Afgans were allies. However, I suspect the Taliban has grown yet again...and they definitely resent our attempts to help the decent folks who want/need change.

If you ever want to know how President Karzai became President pick up this book. I know at least two of the men that served on the team. The book is a book and may not be 100% true but from great sources it is close enough to be considered ones slant against another.
A friend of my son in law spent 22 months in Iraq----some of the things he told me ---- Our GI's pass candy out to little kids--- the insurgents strap explosives to the little kids and send them to get candy-- then denote the explosives. 8-10 year old kids with weapons and trained to shoot ya. Women same way.
He said he had alot of feelings for most the people BUT just when you think you've won them over-----they will kill you. He said the best thing we could do was get out or go in full blast.
Bassman you know I work with all types coming home. I see the best and unfortunately I see the ugliest war has to offer. Many of the men and women would have soon died on the battlefield. It's ashamed what we are doing over there.
As for the deaths....we have lost about 2,000 in Afghanistan in the past ten years. That's a TRAGEDY though to put it in into prospective we lost about 6,000 on D-Day.
One of our guys snapped, however, killing civillians seems pretty regular for the Taliban. I found this UN statistic pretty interesting.

Terrorism against civilians
Terrorist attack carried out by the Taliban's Haqqani network in Kabul.
According to the United Nations, the Taliban were responsible for 76% of civilian casualties in Afghanistan in 2009, 75% in 2010 and 80% in 2011.[32][161]
According to Human Rights Watch, the Taliban's bombings and other attacks which have led to civilian casualties "sharply escalated in 2006" when "at least 669 Afghan civilians were killed in at least 350 armed attacks, most of which appear to have been intentionally launched at non-combatants."[162][163] By 2008, the Taliban had increased its use of suicide bombers and targeted unarmed civilian aid workers, such as Gayle Williams.[164]
The United Nations reported that the number of civilians killed by both the Taliban and pro-government forces in the war rose nearly 50% between 2007 and 2009.[165] The high number of civilians killed by the Taliban is blamed in part on their increasing use of improvised explosive devices (IEDs), "for instance, 16 IEDs have been planted in girls' schools" by the Taliban.[165]</td></tr></table>

Get em out, Bring em home, mission over.
Well... at least Barry can apologize for something else now. Momma always said, "Stick to what you're good at".
I would pray for the families but they would get offended. I have a solution and a way that this would never happen again.
Truly sad for this soldier to have to endure such to the point that he mentally breaks down... http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/crying.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/crying.gif
I regretfully have no sympathy as its hard to trust anyone in the middle east when they publicly shout how much they hate the US and our ways. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/mad.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/mad.gif
As far as "our" president goes, I guess he will give another heart felt apology.
Bout tired of him and darn ready for his sorry azz to be voted out!!! http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthdown.gif http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthdown.gif

He walked off base at 0300. An unnamed woman witness said she heard gunfire and evidently saw the gunman shoot a barking dog at 0200...before he walked off base. She was also quick to point out Taliban hadn't been seen there for 5 months. The article doesnt say she was responding to a question, but rather that she added that info.
Curious indeed. I'm with Alan. I dont think the whole story is being presented here.
I agree that we have not heard the whole story, but if true, better yet, let's wait and hear the whole story first...I hope some US soldier didn't stoop to their level....
I have been on MANY bases all over Afghanistan and Iraq and guess what? You DONT just walk off base...I call BS on that one!!!
And if it had been an Afghani in the US killing 16 innocents including a 2 year old child?
i agree also that we are not getting the whole or correct story . and why have'nt they explained assama bin laddin [sp] being right under their noses by their military training base . ''''right'''' . its all b.s. . get our troops home or atleast out of that terroist loving country.
i am sorry for the loss of the kids , but they will be with god
Enough is Enough...Get these kids home....What is the mission again???..As near as I can tell it is winning hearts and minds...That isn't working out so well, imagine that...
The battle against terrorrism is won by small unit action...Go where the terrorrists train and live and kill them...Winning hearts and minds of the people just gets harder and harder the longer the occupation lasts.....I would think we would have learned that lesson after our last 10 year war.....
Our soldiers did some great things and improved the lives of many "Nationals" in both Iraq and Afghanistan but it came at a heavy cost....Too heavy in my opinion...

Not to answer a question with a question...but...what if that HAD happened? What do feel we would have done? As tragic as this is, we don't generally go off the deep end as a country. I don't feel any "reparations" would have come this way, the way they will that way though.
When you offer that question Dale, are you saying an Afghani coming to America to carry out such a deed (premeditated)? Or, are you saying a random shooting carried out by someone who happened to be Afghani (no apparent motive other than just went berserk)? Because, I think each of those would be handled differently. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif
"US officials have apologised repeatedly for the incident."
Yup. At it again. It's a war zone. You can't be in war for 8 years and not have some one snap. They're lucky this hasn't happend more often. If the Afghans did their part and had an interest in getting rid of terrorism we wouldn't be there right now.

Ever hear of Fort Hood and Major Nidal Malik Hasan?
Sad indeed!
They don't want us there, Come home and LOCK the door behind ya! Keep them out of here as well. The melting pot is FULL in my opinion http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif
They have been fighting for thousands of years.

Lots and lots of people keep saying this but the second we're out of there they will then focus all of their attention on attacking us again here at home.Like it or not, with us occupying there home land it keeps them focused on driving us out rather than bringing the fight here.
There's only one real way to end it,take the gloves off and let our troops do what they train to do everyday. All the political bs and rules of engagement that only we follow is why this has drug on for so damn long.
